OceanGate Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) organization that advances understanding of the ocean by providing grants in support of scientific and archaeological marine research, with an emphasis on innovative technologies such as human-occupied submersibles; and by supporting efforts to engage and inspire explorers, researchers, civic leaders and others in the public who share an interest in understanding the ocean. The foundation is the primary philanthropic partner of OceanGate Expeditions.
Titanic Expedition
The foundation is supporting scientific and archaeological research focused on marine life, history, and archaeology on a multi-year expedition to survey the world’s most famous shipwreck.
King Herod’s Harbor
The foundation is supporting an ongoing archaeological collaboration to excavate King Herod’s Harbor using the innovative Digski to move vast amounts of sand quickly and efficiently.
Hudson Canyon Mapping
The foundation has supported mapping of the Hudson Canyon, enabling the addition of important digital database layers, such as coral locations and shipwreck sites, in this area now being considered for designation as a new national marine sanctuary.
OceanGate Foundation was founded by entrepreneurs and scientists who are driven by the wonder and challenge of deep sea exploration.
