Expeditions

The foundation supports exploration and discovery in marine science and nautical archaeology, with an emphasis on providing access using crewed submersibles and other subsea technologies to enable scientists and explorers to directly observe the underwater environment.

Nautical Archaeology

Underwater history and archeology helps build understanding of the past and prepare for the future. The foundation is proud to support expeditions to uncover new discoveries in this area.
All underwater exploration supported by the foundation must comply with the 2001 UNESCO Convention on the Protection of Underwater Cultural Heritage.

Marine Science

71 percent of Earth is covered in ocean, and 95 percent of it is yet to be explored. The foundation is proud to support the participation of marine scientists on research expeditions in order to better understand the ocean.

“What is history? An echo of the past in the future; a reflex from the future on the past.”
